A group for college graduates interested in advancing higher education and seeking stimulating activities and friendships.

VUW was established in 1945 in the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles, California and is comprised of women who have graduated from a college or university.   We are a 501-C3 Charitable Organization.  Our tax ID # is 95-6122376.

VUW purposes were, and remain,

to encourage higher education with our scholarship program
    to stimulate intellectual thinking
to provide opportunity for creative thinking
to strengthen friendship among university women

Scholarship News:  Our first $100 scholarship was given to one high school senior in 1946.   Valley University Women has continuously offered scholarships to graduating high school seniors who will be attending college or university in California.  On June 19, 2018 we awarded 21 scholarships of $3000 each to college-bound high school seniors from the San Fernando Valley.  VUW members have personally raised the funds for our scholarship program through an annual Fundraising Event, silent auctions, individual donations and bequests. Our most recent bequest is from the estate of long-time member Vicki Manchester.
